Upper 2

Ages 15 and up

Upper 2 curicculum is designed to strengthen, sharpen and making everything clear for the students. ati this age they get so much stronger, the artist that they are emerges and they really grow up to becomng dancers. The skills demand are tougher and every class of this program contribuates to fullfiling those demands. More Contemporary classes, more repetoire and the ShiraMood class which is a real treat.

Upper Level 2 - full program

Sundays: 17:00-18:30 Horton technique

                  18:40-20:00 Ballet technique

Mondays: 18:30-20:15 Ballet technique

                    20:20-21:15 Pointe advanced*

Tuesdays: 16:15-17:45 Ballet technique

                    17:50-19:15 Modern release technique

                     19:30-21:00 Repertoire with Ohad Caspi

Thursdays: 17:00-19:00 Ballet technique

                       19:15-20:30 ShiraMood

* Pointe class students should be invited by the teacher


Level's Program

ABT Ballet Technique Level 6-7

Led by Shira Ganor, ABT National Curriculum Training fellowship teacher, Level 6-7 is the highest levels in ABT training. Brings high co-ordinated, challenging technique. This class is for advanced students who are training to become professional dancers in thier senoir year. 

Acceptance by audition only.

Ballet Technique Upper Levels

Ballet technique in Upper 1 Level, is tought by Crisitna Wiess. Ballet mistress who grew beautiful dancers through the years. Cristina teaches the Vaganova styled technique that emphasis beautiful port de bras and strong back.

DreamTeam

Our DreamTeam is chosen every year bu the staff. First, students are chosen to work on classecal variatons on Pointe and then, Modern repertoire for Upper 2 and 3. Students chosen to the DreamTeam get to work one on one with the DreamTeam coachers and they also get to compete in the competitions chosen every year. 

On top of that, they preform with their solos at the end of the year recitals. 

Modern Horton Inspiration Upper 2

It is important to learn different modern techniques, not only improvisation and repertoire but to have a technique class that grants skills to master, strengthen and enrich the abilities. At the SGB school modern techniques given is inspired by the Horton technique. Lester Horton developed a modern dance technique based on Native American dances, anatomical studies, and other movement influences.

Horton technique is the foundation for many of Alvin Ailey's masterpieces.

Horton is given only at the pre-professional division.

Modern Release Upper 2

In the upper 3 level, once dancers have worked through the two modern techniques inspired by Graham and Horton, this class technique taught by Michal Hirsch is a mix of Graham, Release, Limon and so much more. The movement flow, the playfull transfer of wieght, and the challenge of great framed movement is space, forward and back, upwards and downwards is what makes this class so challeging and exciting.

Pointe Advanced

Pointe classes start at the age of 11. (Level 3)

The advanced level class is only for girls chosen by the teacher and usually those who get to be in the  pointe team that competes in competitions, and preforms in our recitals.

The intermediate level pointe class is suited for level 4 and up. exceptance only by audition, and with the teahcre's approval. 

The Elementary Level is for Level 3.

Girls have to eb recommended by the teacher to participate in pointe classes.


Repertoire Upper 2

Improvisation is very importatnt tool in the contemporary dance world. 

Dancers are c-creators in almost every creative process and Impro is a great tool to master. There are a lot of improvisation techniques such as Gaga by Ohad Neharin, Kinetics and so many more. The choises and variety of possibilities in Impro are endless and theres always room to deepen the work and invistigate. 

ShiraMood

ShiraMood is a modern class that is thought mostly by Shira Ganor, but also hosts other teachers and cheographers as Shira chooses. It is a modern class, introducing a mishmash of techniques but mostly creating dances together with  Shira according to her "Mood". This class is pure fun and dance.
